Launched by the investment firm Attestor, which is also a shareholder in Condor and markets its tickets, it is based in Germany at Hamburg, Leipzig/Halle and Nuremberg, with a new base opened in Frankfurt.

History

Marabu was announced on 13 December 2022 by Attestor Capital, a 51% shareholder in Condor, as a leisure airline registered in Estonia; its website states that it was founded in November 2022 in Tallinn. It operated its first commercial flight, between Munich and Palma de Mallorca, in mid-April 2023, with three A320neo aircraft supplied by Nordic Aviation Group under an ACMI contract. In March 2025, on joining the BARIG association, it had eight A320neo aircraft and two leased aircraft with crew, around thirty holiday destinations, and more than two million passengers carried since its launch. In June 2026, it is recruiting cabin crew for a new base in Frankfurt.
