Tips for applying as cabin crew

Fluent English, both written and spoken, is the only language required in job adverts, and the application file must be written in English. Recruitment takes place through recruitment days organised country by country; none was scheduled in France as of early October 2026, which means a candidate living in France must either aim for a base abroad situated at most 60 minutes from home (90 minutes in the United Kingdom) or relocate. The airline states that there are no nights away from base, with a flexible schedule and the possibility of swapping working days.

Fleet figures as of 9 June 2026 — indicative (public sources, they change over time); check with the airline before an interview.

History

Wizz Air Hungary was founded in September 2003 by József Váradi, a former executive of the Hungarian national airline Malév, with the American fund Indigo Partners as its main investor. Its first flight took off from Katowice (Poland) on 19 May 2004. The airline was listed on the London Stock Exchange on 25 February 2015. In 2018 it launched a British subsidiary, Wizz Air UK, based in Luton, followed in 2022 by Wizz Air Malta, whose first flight connected Rome-Fiumicino to Malta on 27 September 2022. Its Abu Dhabi subsidiary, announced in 2020, closed in September 2025. As of 31 March 2026, the fleet numbered 262 aircraft, and the airline announced 267 as of 9 June 2026.

Frequently asked questions

What are the conditions for becoming cabin crew at Wizz Air?+

The recruitment day adverts require candidates to be at least 18 years old, to reach 210 cm of arm span while standing on tiptoe, to hold a secondary school leaving qualification, to speak and write fluent English, to hold a valid passport with no restrictions (at least six months) and the right to work in the country of the base, to be able to swim, to live within 60 minutes of the chosen base (90 minutes for London-Luton) or be ready to relocate, and to have no visible tattoo or piercing with the uniform. A medical examination is compulsory: the airline states that with a correction greater than +4 or less than -4, success is unlikely.

How does a Wizz Air recruitment day work?+

Registration for the event is compulsory, via the careers website. The day includes a presentation of the airline, an English test, a personal presentation of a few sentences, a role-play based on real-life situations, a team exercise and a final individual interview. Most events start at 9am (8.30am in the United Kingdom) and can last until late afternoon; the airline asks for professional dress and a CV in English with a passport photo, and checks compliance with the conditions on site.

Does Wizz Air recruit cabin crew in France?+

Among the recruitment days published on 8 October 2026, none takes place in France: they are held in Catania, Milan-Malpensa, Naples, Chisinau, Yerevan and London-Luton. The list of bases consulted (Wikipedia, 2026) includes no French base. The adverts for Catania, Milan-Malpensa and Chisinau specify that the event allows candidates to apply for any Wizz Air Malta base, and that attending a local event is required to join another base in the network.

What benefits does the airline advertise for its cabin crew?+

The adverts mention full, free cabin crew training, free tickets depending on experience and discounted tickets for staff, paid leave, no nights away from base, a flexible schedule with the possibility of swapping flights for days off, and the possibility of working at other bases. For Wizz Air UK, the contract runs from the first day of training, and the airline publishes indicative, non-guaranteed target salaries: £23,450 (Junior Cabin Attendant), £26,450 (Cabin Attendant) and £33,850 (Senior Cabin Attendant), based on 18 to 28 flights per month.
